It's a Turkey Day Post... Things To Do with a Captive Audience

November 23, 2017

This year has moved fast for me and my House. I am thankful for the many people that I have met here and those who have shared their time, stories, and energy with me. Thanksgiving for us often involves going to find a cafe that is open and sharing time together before we start our visiting and cooking. It is an early morning for the House. Holidays also offer something important that is often ignored.

So much of daily life is often rushing about, keeping focused on goals, balancing priorities, and majorly adulting. I'd like to propose something that you as an MC can do whether you're with family or getting takeout and a movie. On this day practice listening and taking in what the other person in front of you has to say. Often we miss so much by thinking of a response while other people are talking. Let them finish and ask that they do the same for you. If this feels intimate and cathartic you may want to include this more with those you interact with. Not only will you improve your influence skills, you will understand others better, establish lasting feedback and communication verbally and nonverbally, and your moods and energies will sync faster.

Holidays are chances to share history, create memories, and do silly and fun things. As I type this what comes to mind is playing board games and chases around the table with a drumstick. While there are sometimes moments that we all feel awkward or stuck please take a step back. That's not who you are. Allow that moment to pass by bringing your mind to encourage the best emotions, stories, and awareness that is possible. All of it will fade into the past and what you take away should be your choice.

I will leave you with this silly and fun thing to do with a captive audience. This is a game I used to play by myself and at times with other Tists when possible. I call it the Touch of Influence.

The rules of the Touch of Influence are simple.

You pick three body parts (nose, chin, right earlobe).

The order of the parts listed becomes the order that you must get your subject to touch those parts.

You can't speak directly to the subject to get them to do this.

That's it. When adding more people the rules can slightly change but this trains flexibility in our art. It also allows me to have a fun time practicing my skills. The best part of this is children often pick up on this game. Playing it may just make you the most fun person around the kids table and it will give you something new to try for during the football game.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This holiday please check out my book, The Tao of Relationship Maintenance for Mind Controllers
