Yesterday I was out at coffee editing the new book and chatting people up that I might invite for a trance. I stumbled across an attractive writer who told me stories and listened to mine. The conversation was too brief but I was happily surprised to have been left with a poem in email. Sarah Jane Salamanders told me about these poems that she wrote where she took a name and made poetry. This is a wonderful example of why we need to connect with people with more than the pleasure that we can offer them. If we only resonate with pleasure than we become as fleeting and as impermanent as the reason someone smiles. Get to know the whole person and connect that smile to everything they could be.
Just sipping coffee over a zodiac of artistic disciplines, a rare breed for streetwise and socially-foolish blue-morpho- enthusiast encounters. Somehow, pictures aren’t worth as many words as connecting dots in happy cultural hubs, in old fashioned ways.
