This award has been bestowed on Hope Pitre as a community leader from the next generation. In her early 20's she is taking the lead to bridge lifestyle groups, serving on the Hades en Kore' Inner Circle, and Louisiana polyamory and lifestyle people. People today have many ways to communicate and connect with others. Digital media and constant connectivity have made it easier to form online communities and be part of varied communities with various interests. Social media is a very powerful tool, especially when it comes to the younger generations. They can interact with people 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and across all geographical locations. The lifestyle communities need more people like Hope to bridge some of the divides between communities and organizations, continue attracting people interested in bettering the community, and who can understand and collaborate with multiple individuals and groups to achieve common goals. The best way to learn how to invent the future is to become educated, establish resilient infrastructure and foundations, clearly understand what’s at stake, and be determined to take charge. It takes ambition, and it needs leadership. And it requires values that speak to the needs of everyone.
None of those goals can happen without other people and a good community. Community is something we all thirst for. All of the groups Hope belongs to encourage those to collaborate, expand, and share opportunities, and minimize what takes away from being part of these intentional communities. There’s still plenty of work to do. As the lifestyle communities continue to grow, I am confident with Hope, and those being inspired by her, that they will rise to the occasion and achieve even more innovative goals in the years to come.
